I love the display because it shows what you need to do to get a belt at each level. The song is listed, the new skills that you have to master are displayed, and it leaves kids excited and thinking about what they'll need to conquer next. My principal loves it because it's a clearly displayed rubric of what the kid needs to do to succeed. Most of all, it was easy to make and spruces up a bland/off white hallway! Everyone's happy!
How to make your own posters
2) Making the colored recorders was pretty easy as well as I only had to take my actual recorder and trace around it. The basic shape of the recorder came from tracing and then I filled in the rest (finger holes, lines, etc.) by hand with a sharpie.
4) The “What Belt Are You” signs below the other posters were another thing that was easy to create. The words I made in a PowerPoint presentation, laminated, and stuck on the extra recorders that I made.
